When I went to school, during boring lessons, we have a very popular game was “point”. For this, we needed a simple paper and pen. The idea was to surround the enemy points. The one who was able to collect more “prisoners” or who first “caught” the other person trapped, was considered the winner.
Google Play: an average rating of 3.5; Android 2.3; free
Today I was faced with a title that somehow made me think about the childhood game. If you spend most of your time in boring lectures or lessons, check Outpost Command. This is a game in which, as in the “points” endlessly “hunt” for our enemy.
The idea and features
The graphic design here is associated with a very old game based on the novel by Frank Herbert. Of course, we are talking about Dune. At Command Outpost was influenced by desert landscapes and futuristic buildings in the style of the game world 1990-ies. The climate is also accompanied by electronic music, which is also closer to the days of Amiga and Commodore computers. Here, for a moment, I’ll stop. Music in mobile games is often seen as a parody. In the case of the Outpost Commander in the menu, we find a few songs that really encourage us to play. I really like these soundtracks, so this was a nice surprise for me, that game creator should put a plus.
However, let us proceed to the game. We start with one tower. From it we can create branches of different lengths. We play alternately: first we, then the enemy. Each branch is a wall at the end of which there is another tower. Our task — to get to the maternity building, the first building of the enemy. We destroyed it, cutting through its own wall, one that was initially built the second player. The Board is quite extensive, so it is a difficult task and one game can take up to dozen minutes.
It is also worth adding that the last branch that we have built, always untouchable. If the opponent crosses it with his wall, his building will be destroyed. So it’s not completely such as in “points” I mentioned in the introduction. However, it is both the same competition and fun in the style of “cat and mouse”.
But that’s not all. The game also offers a multiplayer mode. However, it requires the player to sync with Google Play. Unfortunately, all my attempts to contact the randomly selected player did not succeed. Perhaps, the game is still not popular. Fortunately, we can also challenge to a duel with anyone of your friends. So, if you have no opportunity to play on one tablet or smartphone, you can always use the duel online.
Outpost Command is a title that you can also limit graphically dashes and dots. The makers have created a climate setting, so a game for two people, got its own character. If you are looking for a solution that will allow you to improve a trip on vacation or to do something with children, I recommend it.
